Cost/Estimate of Services
Insurance and Superbills: At this time, Whitney McGee Psychological Services, PLLC is a private pay and out-of-network provider for all insurance plans. I am happy to provide a receipt, or “Superbill,” for appointments. You may file this documentation directly with your insurance company for reimbursement. Typically, reimbursement rates range from 50-80% of cost of services. Whitney McGee Psychological Services, PLLC is not responsible for and cannot guarantee out-of-network coverage or reimbursement from your specific insurance plan. Please contact your insurance company to ask about mental health benefits and requirements for submitting documentation for reimbursement.
Payment: Whitney McGee Psychological Services, PLLC accepts all major credit cards, including HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of service. For minors, the parent present for the session is responsible for insuring payment. Credit card information and processing is completed through a HIPAA-compliant system. You will receive instructions about entering payment information when you setup your account in the client portal and receive your intake packet.
Factors Affecting Resource Investment
Therapy services are tailored to individual needs and presenting concerns. The length of treatment and frequency of sessions varies based on a client’s/family’s unique strengths and challenges, life stresses, treatment goals, and participation. As such, the total investment of time and finances will depend on how often appointments are scheduled and how long therapy support is needed. These factors are assessed and estimated at the time of the initial diagnostic interview. Dr. McGee, with family input and involvement in decision making, will continue to evaluate and update recommendations about the course of treatment based on client needs and progress.

Intake/Diagnostic and evaluation session (90 minutes) - $250.00
Therapy follow-up appointment (50 minutes) - $200.00
Family therapy sessions (50 minutes) - $200.00
No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimate
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, the No Surprises Act is a law requiring health care providers, including mental health professionals, to give patients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use insurance a “Good Faith Estimate.” This is an estimate of the expected charges for medical services and items, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the total cost of any non-emergency items of services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate.
Providers/Facilities must also:
Provide a Good Faith Estimate before a scheduled service within 3 days for visits scheduled in 10+ days in advance or within 1 business day after scheduling for visits scheduled less than 10 days in advance.
Offer an itemized list of services/items with associated health care code and expected charge for each.
Explain the Good Faith Estimate in writing and verbally, if requested.
The Good Faith Estimate must be provided in a way that is accessible to you.
Retain a copy of your Good Faith Estimate so you can compare it to bills received later.

This Good Faith Estimate shows the costs of services that are reasonably expected for the expected services to address your mental health care needs. The estimate is based on the information known to Whitney McGee Psychological Services, PLLC when the estimate was completed. A detailed list of possible services will be provided, and your estimate will be valid for 12 months. The Good Faith Estimate will be updated annually, upon a change in fees, and/or upon client request. The Good Faith Estimate will also be updated if there is any expected change to the scope of service, such as the need for more frequent sessions than anticipated or if treatment extends beyond the initial expected time frame.
The Good Faith Estimate does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur. If this happens, federal law allows you to dispute (appeal) the bill.
You may contact Whitney McGee Psychological Services, PLLC to communicate the billed charges are at least $400 higher than the GFE. You may ask that the bill be updated to match the GFE, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available.
You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). If you choose to use the dispute resolution process, you must start the dispute process within 120 calendar days (about 4 months) of the date on the original bill.
There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this GFE. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount.
